NADRA Union Council Counters & New Centers: In a major step towards improving citizen services in Karachi, Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced several key initiatives to enhance NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) facilities across the city. These include the setup of union council counters at all NADRA centers, the launch of new and upgraded centers, and improvements in NADRA’s mobile app.
These efforts are aimed at making NADRA services faster, more efficient, and more accessible for Karachi’s growing population.
Union Council Counters at All NADRA Centers
Mayor Murtaza Wahab, during the inauguration of a new NADRA registration center at Babarbazar, Landhi, shared that union council service counters will now be available at every NADRA center in Karachi.
This decision is expected to reduce the hassle citizens often face when visiting multiple offices for documentation. With union council counters located inside NADRA centers, many essential services can now be completed under one roof.

میئر کراچی مرتضیٰ وہاب نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ شہر کے تمام نادرا مراکز میں یونین کونسلز کے کاؤنٹرز قائم کیے جائیں گے۔
لینڈھی کے بابربازار میں نادرا کے نئے اپ گریڈڈ رجسٹریشن سینٹر کے افتتاح کے موقع پر مرتضیٰ وہاب نے کہا کہ لیاری کے کاکری گراؤنڈ میں ایک نیا نادرا مرکز قائم کرنے کے لیے فوری طور پر فزیبلٹی اسٹڈی شروع کی جا رہی ہے، جبکہ گلشن اقبال، گلبرگ اور سرجانی ٹاؤن میں بڑے میگا مراکز بھی زیر تعمیر ہیں جو بڑی آبادیوں کو خدمات فراہم کریں گے۔
\مرتضیٰ وہاب نے کہا کہ لینڈھی کا نیا اپ گریڈڈ مرکز سات سنگل ونڈو کاؤنٹرز پر مشتمل ہے جو پہلے صرف چار تھے، اس کی گنجائش بڑھا کر 120 افراد تک کر دی گئی ہے اور یہاں خواتین و مرد حضرات کے لئے علیحدہ واش رومز، وہیل چیئر رسائی اور پینے کے پانی کی سہولت بھی فراہم کی گئی ہے۔ نادرا سندھ کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل عامر علی خان نے کہا. کہ کراچی کے پانچ مراکز پہلے ہی اپ گریڈ کئے جا چکے ہیں. جبکہ شہر کے 21 مراکز کو مرحلہ وار اپ گریڈ کیا جائے گا۔
عامر علی خان نے کہا کہ نادرا کے نئے موبائل ایپ کے آغاز میں شہریوں کو کچھ مسائل کا سامنا ہوا. تاہم مکمل فعال ہونے کے بعد یہ ایپ شہریوں کو طویل اعرصے تک آسانی فراہم کرے گی۔ نادرا سندھ کے ڈائریکٹر نے کہا کہ شہریوں کی سہولت کے لیے یونین کونسل کاؤنٹرز. اپ گریڈڈ مراکز اور نئے میگا سنٹرز کی بدولت نادرا کی خدمات. کراچی میں مزید تیز اور مؤثر انداز میں فراہم کی جا سکیں گی۔
New and Upgraded NADRA Centers in Karachi
Landhi Babarbazar Center Upgraded
The newly upgraded center in Landhi has seen major improvements. The number of service counters has increased from four to seven, boosting its capacity to handle up to 120 visitors daily.
Additionally, the facility now includes:
- Separate washrooms for men and women
- Wheelchair accessibility for persons with disabilities
- Drinking water facilities for the public
These features have been added to ensure a more comfortable and user-friendly experience for citizens.
More Centers Planned for Other Areas
Feasibility Study for Lyari Center
A new NADRA center is being planned for the future at the Kakri Ground in Lyari, for which a feasibility study is already underway. This step reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring NADRA services are available in underserved areas.

Mega Centers in Key Karachi Locations
In addition to Lyari, large-scale mega NADRA centers are under construction in:
- Gulshan-e-Iqbal
- Gulberg
- Surjani Town
These centers are expected to serve thousands of people and help reduce the burden on existing offices by offering more efficient service in high-population areas.
Technology Upgrades and Mobile App Development
Upgradation of Existing Centers
According to NADRA Sindh Director General Aamir Ali Khan, five NADRA centers in Karachi have already been upgraded. An additional 21 centers will be modernized in phases to improve service delivery across the city.
NADRA Mobile App – Early Challenges and Long-Term Benefits
DG Aamir Ali Khan acknowledged that the launch of NADRA’s mobile app had some initial challenges. However, once this app is fully functional, it will become an important tool for the public. It will allow users to access services from their smartphones, reducing the need to physically visit NADRA centers for many tasks.
