Punjab University Announcement: All Classes Online

Punjab University (PU) has announced that all classes of the university will be online from October 14, 2025. Under this decision, classes will be shifted online in both morning and evening sessions. This decision was taken due to security concerns so that there is no disruption in the educational process while keeping in mind the safety of students.

In addition, Punjab University has postponed all written exams scheduled for October 13. The new exam dates will be announced later. From October 14, the exams will resume as per the original schedule, but this time, these exams will also be held online to avoid the impact of the security situation.

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore’s response

Similarly, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has also decided to shift all classes online from October 14, 2025. UET Lahore emphasized that this step has been taken to maintain the continuity of academic activities in view of the current security situation.

The UET Lahore administration has informed students to visit the university’s official portal to view the schedule of their online classes and to stay in touch with their teachers. In this way, students will not face any difficulties during online education.

Impact of protests: TLP’s Lahore to Islamabad march

All these measures have been taken due to the recent protests in Lahore and the TLP (Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan) Islamabad march. The security situation in Lahore and other major cities during the march became tense, making it necessary for educational institutions to ensure the safety of their students. As a result, universities decided to move classes online to avoid any untoward incident.

Decision on online classes and their impact

The decision by universities to move classes online has guaranteed students’ security on one hand and helped them maintain the continuity of academic activities on the other. However, students may also face some challenges during online education, such as internet speed, a lack of technology, and preparation for online exams. To address these issues, universities have taken various measures, such as access to online libraries, recording of web classes, and alternative examination methods.

Another important thing for students is that the university administration has fully informed them that they can contact the university’s technical support team for any kind of assistance during online education.

In addition, these steps are a step towards giving top priority to the security of students by educational institutions.

If the security situation becomes more tense in the future, other universities may also start adopting a possible strategy of moving their classes online. In addition, the universities have also assured their students that they will take all possible steps so that the continuity of education is maintained.
