In response to the ongoing devastation caused by floods in several parts of Pakistan, PM Shehbaz Sharif Flood Recovery Drive has announced a significant relief package for the victims. Electricity Bill Waiver for Flood-Hit Areas
As part of the Shehbaz Sharif flood relief 2025, the Prime Minister announced a complete waiver of August electricity bills for domestic consumers in flood-affected areas. He emphasized that this is not a favor, but a right of the people who are suffering due to the disaster.
Those who have already paid their August electricity bills will receive a full refund in their next billing cycle. The Prime Minister confirmed that clear instructions have been issued to electricity distribution companies to ensure this relief is implemented effectively.

Deferment for Agricultural, Commercial, and Industrial Consumers
The relief package also includes the postponement of electricity bill payments for the month of August for agricultural, commercial, and industrial consumers in the affected regions.
The government is currently conducting a detailed assessment of the financial losses faced by these sectors. Depending on the outcome of this assessment, additional relief measures may be introduced to further support these consumers.
Federal Government to Bear Electricity Costs
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the federal government will pay the electricity bills of affected domestic users from its own resources. This move aims to ease the financial burden on families who have already lost their homes, livelihoods, and livestock.
He acknowledged the suffering of elders, women, and children who are displaced and living under the open sky and stressed that it is the state’s duty to support them.
