RLNG connection for domestic consumers
In a major step toward providing affordable and safe energy to the public, the Government of Pakistan has announced a comprehensive plan to provide RLNG connection for domestic consumers. The initiative is being implemented under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has placed a high priority on making energy accessible, cost-effective, and safe for households across the country.
The plan was discussed and approved during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Energy, Ali Pervaiz Malik. Senior officials, including the Managing Director of Sui Companies, were present to present progress updates and strategic plans.
High-Level Meeting Sets Ambitious Targets
During the meeting, the Federal Minister was briefed by the MD of Sui Companies on the detailed strategy. It was shared that the initial target is to provide thousands of new RLNG connections in the first year of implementation. This move is expected to benefit a large number of households that have been waiting for gas connections, especially in areas where natural gas supplies are limited.
Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized the need to implement this plan with efficiency, transparency, and a people-first approach. He said that this program reflects the government’s mission to ensure affordable energy for every citizen, in line with the Prime Minister’s broader energy policy.

وفاقی وزیر توانائی علی پرویز ملک کی زیر صدارت اجلاس میں گھریلو صارفین کو آر ایل این جی کنکشن فراہم کرنے کا جامع منصوبہ تیار کر لیا گیا۔ اجلاس میں سوئی کمپنیز کے ایم ڈی کی جانب سے بریفنگ دی گئی جس میں بتایا گیا کہ پہلے ہی سال میں ہزاروں نئے گھریلو کنکشنز فراہم کرنے کا ہدف مقرر کیا جا رہا ہے۔
وفاقی وزیر نے ہدایت دی کہ عوامی سہولت کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے صارف دوست نظام بنایا جائے اور شفافیت یقینی بنائی جائے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ اقدام وزیراعظم شہباز شریف کے وژن کے تحت ہے جو عوام کو سستی توانائی فراہم کرنے کو اولین ترجیح دیتے ہیں۔
علی پرویز ملک نے بتایا کہ ایل پی جی کے مقابلے میں. آر ایل این جی تقریباً 30 فیصد سستی اور گھریلو استعمال کے لیے زیادہ محفوظ ایندھن ہے۔
اعلامیہ کے مطابق صارفین سوئی کمپنیز کی سرکاری ویب سائٹس. اور موبائل ایپس کے ذریعے آن لائن درخواستیں جمع کرا سکیں گے. جبکہ مقامی دفاتر میں بھی درخواستیں دی جا سکتی ہیں۔
وفاقی وزیر نے عوامی شکایات کے فوری ازالے کے لیے ہیلپ لائن. اور شکایت سیل فعال کرنے کی ہدایت بھی دی۔ مزید برآں انہوں نے ماضی میں گیس کنکشن. کے لیے ڈیمانڈ نوٹ جمع کرانے والے صارفین کو ریلیف دینے کا اعلان کیا. جس کے تحت وہ صرف سیکیورٹی فیس اور بقایا رقم جمع کروا. کر نئی پالیسی کے تحت آر ایل این جی کنکشن حاصل کر سکیں گے۔
Transparent and User-Friendly Application Process
To ensure public convenience, the Federal Minister directed the creation of a simple and user-friendly system for applying for RLNG connections. The process will be made fully accessible through both online and offline channels.
How to Apply for RLNG Connections:
- Online Applications: Consumers will be able to apply through the official websites and mobile applications of the respective Sui companies.
- Offline Applications: Those who prefer in-person assistance can submit their applications at local offices of the gas utilities.
This dual approach ensures that people from all regions and backgrounds can easily access the service, regardless of their digital literacy or internet access.
Helpline and Complaint Cell for Public Support
Another important step taken by the Ministry is the establishment of a dedicated helpline and complaint cell. This unit will be responsible for handling consumer queries and resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
The Minister stressed that timely redressal of complaints is essential to build public trust and improve service delivery. This will allow consumers to report issues, get updates on their application status, and receive technical assistance if needed.

Relief for Past Applicants
In a major relief to the public, the government also announced that consumers who had previously submitted demand notes for gas connections but did not receive them will now be eligible for RLNG connections under the new policy.
Such applicants will only be required to pay the security deposit, and the remaining charges will be waived under this special relief initiative. This decision is aimed at providing fair treatment to long-standing applicants and ensuring that no one is left behind.
Why Choose RLNG? Safer and Cheaper than LPG
Ali Pervaiz Malik highlighted the benefits of RLNG (Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas) as a domestic fuel option. He pointed out that:
- RLNG is approximately 30% cheaper than LPG, making it a more economical option for households.
- RLNG is also considered safer for home use, reducing risks associated with gas cylinders and improving overall safety in kitchens.
With energy prices rising globally, this move toward RLNG offers a much-needed financial break for Pakistani families.
