What Are Non-Formal Education (NFE) Schools?
Non-Formal Education (NFE) schools are designed to serve individuals who have missed out on formal schooling. These schools provide flexible and accessible education, especially in underserved and remote areas of Pakistan.
Currently, there are more than 1,300 NFE schools operating across the country, offering thousands of learners the opportunity to read, write, and progress in life. These schools are essential in bridging the literacy gap and empowering communities through education.
Challenges Faced by NFE Schools
Despite their critical role, many NFE schools face a shortage of basic resources, including:
- Books and stationery
- Whiteboards and furniture
- Uniforms and shoes
- Drinking water facilities
- Reading materials and libraries
These resource gaps can affect the learning environment and discourage attendance. To overcome these issues, the Ministry has launched a public appeal for support.

How You Can Help: Donation Packages
To ensure sustainable support, the Ministry has introduced two practical donation packages:
1. Starter Pack – Rs 50,000
This package helps provide basic classroom necessities:
- Stationery for students
- Educational books
- Whiteboards for teaching
2. Adopt a School – Rs 250,000
This comprehensive support package includes:
- School uniforms
- Shoes for students
- A small library setup
- Water cooler for clean drinking water
- Other essential school supplies
Every contribution, big or small, goes directly towards improving the lives of students and teachers in NFE schools.

وزارت وفاقی تعلیم و پیشہ ورانہ تربیت نے نان-فارمل ایجوکیشن (این ایف ای) سکولوں کی بہتری کے لیے ایک خصوصی مہم کا آغاز کیا ہے۔ اس مہم کا مقصد ان بچوں، نوجوانوں اور بڑوں کو تعلیم دینا ہے جو کسی وجہ سے رسمی تعلیم سے محروم رہ گئے تھے۔
پاکستان بھر میں 1,300 سے زائد این ایف ای سکول ایسے افراد کو پڑھنے، لکھنے اور آگے بڑھنے کا موقع فراہم کر رہے ہیں تاہم ان سکولوں کو بنیادی تعلیمی وسائل کی کمی کا سامنا ہے۔ عوام سے اپیل کی گئی ہے کہ وہ سکولوں کی بہتری کے لیے دل کھول کر مدد کریں۔ دو اقسام کی مالی امداد کی تجاویز دی گئی ہیں:50 ہزار روپے کا سٹارٹر پیک جس میں سٹیشنری، کتابیں اور وائٹ بورڈ شامل ہیں، 250,000 روپے میں سکول کو گود لیں: اس پیکج میں یونیفارمز، جوتے، چھوٹی لائبریری، واٹر کولر اور دیگر ضروریات شامل ہیں۔
